Residents who would like a solution to the abundance of fall leaves on their property can dispose of them easily, thanks to the City of Yukon’s Sanitation Services Department. A fall leaf collection service is offered FREE to Yukon utility customers from Monday, November 13 through Friday, December 1.
During the designated dates, residents may place leaf-filled trash bags at the curb during their neighborhood’s routine trash collection day. There is no limit to the number of bags allowed, but they should be durable enough to be handled by collection workers and weigh less than 50 pounds.
All residential customers receive a one-time free curbside bulk pickup on their normal trash pickup day the week of November 13 through November 17. This will not affect the leaf collection service.
Residents are asked to observe the designated three-foot minimum distance around their polycart when placing the leaf bags at the curb, so that the bags do not interfere with the automated trash truck that empties carts. A different truck and crew will go through the neighborhoods to collect the leaf disposal bags.
