Community Programs

  1. CHRISTMAS WITH A COP

The Yukon Police Department is gearing up for the upcoming “Christmas with a Cop” program, designed to bring joy to selected children in the community. This initiative pairs police officers with children who may face specific circumstances that hinder their ability to fully enjoy the Christmas season. The inaugural “Christmas with a Cop” event was hosted by the Yukon Police Department beginning in 2008. Since then, officers have accompanied approximately 400 children on special shopping trips to select gifts for family members. The Yukon Police Department sincerely appreciates the unwavering support from the community and takes immense pride in serving the citizens of Yukon. Online applications will be accepted in October. Eligible children must be between the ages of eight to thirteen, and attending Yukon Public Schools.

  1. Bicycle Registry Program

The Yukon Police Department's Bicycle Registry program was developed as a tool to assist in the recovery of lost or stolen bicycles and to help return them to their rightful owner. When a bicycle is recovered by our department, every attempt is made to locate their rightful owner. Participating in the bicycle registration program can be a successful tool in that effort.
